Matthew J. Werblin

Attorney Matthew J. Werblin is a New York lawyer who focuses his practice on speeding and other traffic infractions.

Education and Experience

Matthew attended Niskayuna High School, where he graduated with honors in 1996. Matthew earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science Magna Cum Laude from Union College in Schenectady, New York in 2001. After completing his undergraduate degree, he went on to study law at Albany Law School of Union University, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2005.

After finishing law school, Matthew became an associate at the firm of Grasso, Rodriguez & Grasso. He subsequently decided to go out on his own and started his own law firm. He continues to act as the principal lawyer in this firm today.

Practice Areas

Matthew focuses his practice on New York traffic infractions. He represents clients who have been accused of virtually any non-felony infraction, including:

  • Speeding.
  • Running a red light or stop sign.
  • Driving distracted.
  • Texting while driving.
  • Reckless Driving

Matthew also represents clients whose driver’s licenses have been suspended or revoked.

Matthew’s ultimate goal is to represent every client as professionally and ethically as possible. He seeks to meet or exceed the expectations of every client while still upholding the law and abiding by the code of ethics. He is friendly and attentive to every client, and he always treats his clients with dignity and respect, regardless of their traffic ticket history, criminal history or the charges they face. He also makes himself available to answer any questions his clients may have as courteously and promptly as possible.

Associations and Speaking Engagements

Matthew maintains active memberships in the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Schenectady County bar association. In 2009, he was invited to speak at the Empowerment Project, where he gave a talk focusing on the benefits of hiring an attorney to deal with a traffic ticket. In 2014, Matthew was invited to give a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) presentation regarding defending traffic infractions in New York State at the New York State Bar Association office in Albany, New York. Furthermore, Matthew has given lectures to Rotary Clubs and other organizations. The title of Matthew’s lecture is, “How to Handle the Traffic Ticket you Received, that you Thought was No Big Deal.”
